Semi-Automatic Low Profile Turntable Wrapping System

Neway Packaging introduces the new Vectra™, an entry level low-profile, semi-automatic turntable stretch wrapper.

With a maximum load weight capacity of 4,000 lbs. and a turntable rotation speed of 9 RPM, the Vectra unitizes pallet loads quickly and efficiently and provides a viable alternative to manually wrapping loads. Ideal for low throughput operations, the wrapper uses Orion’s EconoStretch™ film carriage.

The turntable features an automatic chain tensioner, eliminating the need for periodic tensioning. Driving the turntable is a high efficiency helical gear reducer, making the machine more resistant to damage from lift-truck bumps while the machine is being loaded. Further, the turntable has a steel ring "skirt" that prevents turntable flexing should the wheel of a forklift drive onto it.

The Vectra is built to Orion’s highest quality standards, with the same all steel construction and design as our acclaimed Spectra™, protecting electronics and major components within its mast.

Maintenance-free belt carriage lift

The film carriage on the Vectra is raised and lowered
by an ultra-high strength industrial web belt for reliable operation and zero maintenance. Orion's " Drop Lock" technology prevents the carriage from falling in the unlikely event of belt failure. If the carriage encounters an obstacle during descent, it will immediately lock in place and exert no more than ten pounds on the object.

Easy to load, extra long ramp

The Vectra can be loaded by fork truck or with an optional loading ramp, a pallet jack or electric walkie. The ramp can be placed anywhere around the turntable and has extra length for easy loading.

Control panel

The Vectra's control panel features rugged and reliable buttons and switches. Functions are clearly marked for easy operator comprehension. A large "mushroom" style E-stop stops and pauses the wrapping cycle. The controller is UL and CSA listed and features an advanced Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLC.

Orion Econo-Stretch film carriage

Orion's Econo-Stretch film carriage uses a tension brake to provide resistance on the film web from the carriage to the load. This assures a tight, secure wrap of stretch film around the load, and better economy. Film tension can easily be adjusted via a small knob on top of the unit. The Econo-Stretch faces the side for easy film roll replacement. It uses standard 20" rolls of film. A special plastic material is used for the film carriage guides for smooth operation, zero maintenance and ultra-long service life.
