Low Profile Stand-Alone Turntable Automatic

Following the extraordinary success of Orion’s Spectra, the fully automatic SpectraMax has now become a reality.

Like Spectra, SpectraMax was conceived to use the enclosed design to the very fullest by using its sturdy steel mast enclosure to protect major components from damage. With the turntable and film carriage motors and gearboxes enclosed within the mast, as well as the electronics, there is much less likelihood of damage to these components from careless forklift drivers, or even from environmental factors such as contaminants, dirt, and moisture.

Spectra max will keep your operators moving and productive

The SpectraMax features automatic film tail attachment and film tail cut & wipe so your forklift, electric walkie or hand jack operators will not need to stay to attend to these functions. Once the load is brought to the turntable, the operator simply pulls a hanging lanyard and the SpectraMax does the rest. At the end of the cycle, the film tail is cut by impulse hot wire and wiped to the load for a neatly wrapped unit.

User friendly control panel with ab controller

In the real world, stretch wrap machine operators often don’t read the operating manual for a stretch wrapping machine before using it. That’s why Orion designed the control panel on the SpectraMax to be as clear and universally understood as possible.

Logic control functions are assigned to a state of the art Allen-Bradley PLC, and all control panel devices are rugged, industrial switches, pushbuttons, and indicator lights. Also included is an overhead pull switch to allow start of the automatic wrap cycle from the seat of the fork truck. (Field installation of the overhead pull switch is required).

Insta-Thread™ carriage prestretches film 260% for maximum economy

The Orion Insta-Thread film delivery system faces the side for easier film roll loading and threading. The system uses specially designed rollers to accurately elongate film at a standard rate of 260%.

This highly reliable prestretch system features the fastest, easiest and safest film loading on the market, and an advanced "non-contact" film tension sensor for years of trouble-free wrapping.

A sophisticated photo eye senses even difficult colored and reflective loads, and Orion's unique Insta-Sense system pauses the wrap cycle if the stretch film breaks or runs out.

Film carriage belt drive

The SpectraMax uses a heavy-duty belt to lift and lower the carriage. This belt system not only eliminates the need for periodic chain maintenance, it is safer than chain loop drive systems. If the carriage detects an obstacle during descent, Orion’s ‘Drop-Lock’ technology senses the obstacle, immediately turns off the drive motor and locks the carriage to the mast. This effectively freezes the carriage in position and prevents it from either driving down into an obstacle, or free-falling to the floor.

Heavy duty turntable support system

Loads weighing up to 5,000 pounds are supported by a 20" precision ring bearing and driven by chain & sprocket for ultimate in reliability and durability. The ring bearing is quiet during operation and requires minimum maintenance.
