The Spectra II may not look
like a typical Orion wrapper, but it most certainly performs
like one. The Spectra II is a totally new concept from Orion
which integrates a fresh new look with the safety, ergonomics
and dependability Orion customers have come to expect.

Maintenance-free belt carriage lift
Carriage lift belt drive is smooth, quiet, extremely durable
and never needs attention. A "fail-safe" carriage stop system
assures that the carriage lock it's position in the unlikely
event of belt or drive system failure. The drive motor will also
stop if the carriage encounters an obstacle.
Easy to load, extra long ramp
The Spectra II can be loaded by fork truck or with an
optional loading ramp, a pallet jack or electric walkie. The
ramp can be placed anywhere around the turntable and has extra
length for easy loading.
Controller
The Spectra II's control center features reliable buttons and
switches which are locally available, economical and easily
serviced. Controls are clearly marked and easy to understand.
The PLC used in the Spectra II is the Allen Bradley MicroLogix
1000, chosen for its unique combination of versatility and
economy.
Easy threading side facing carriage
The Orion Insta-Thread film delivery system faces the side
for easier film roll loading and threading. The system uses
specially designed rollers to accurately elongate film at a
standard rate of 260%. This highly reliable prestretch systems
features the fastest, easiest and safest film loading on the
market, and an advanced "non-contact" film tension sensor for
years of trouble-free wrapping. A sophisticated photo eye senses
even difficult colored and reflective loads, and Orion's unique
Insta-Sense system pauses the wrap cycle if the stretch film
breaks or runs out. A power disconnect sensor on the threading
gate prevents machine operation if the gate is not properly
latched.
VFD (Variable frequency drive) motor
controllers
The Spectra II uses AC motors controlled by AC VFD
controllers. The use of AC motors dramatically improves
reliability by eliminating the brush maintenance associated with
DC motors.
