Stand-Alone Automatic Rotary Tower

Increase End-of-the-Line Efficiency with the MPA-67. Orion's innovative film clamp & cut system makes the MPA-67 a great way for customers to increase efficiency and save time. Why? Because the MPA-67 is truly an automatic stretch wrapping system, the fork lift operator does not need to get off the vehicle to wrap the load. Once the load is placed on the wrapping zone (floor or scale), the driver simply pulls a hanging lanyard to begin the wrap cycle. He is now free to attend to other duties and stay productive. Once the wrap cycle is complete, the MPA-67 clamps, cuts and attaches the film tail to the load, and it's ready to be picked up.

Insta-Thread™ film delivery system

Orion's Insta-Thread is a powered prestretch film delivery system which elongates stretch film between two closely spaced, specially textured powered rollers prior. The standard prestretch rate is 260%, however higher or lower rates (up to 350%) are available for specific applications. Pre-stretching film not only reduces your film cost per load, it substantially increases the strength and holding power of the stretch film. Film loading on the Insta-Thread is fast, safe and easy: simply open the hinged roller frame, pull the film across then close and latch the frame.

Tower support & drive

The rotating arm is supported and driven by a rugged, reliable 12" diameter precision ring bearing connected by ANSI roller chain to a non-proprietary motor/gear reducer. This system of drive/support has been field proven to be highly rugged and reliable in a wide variety of industrial environments. Components are easily accessed for service and maintenance. Orion uses locally available, non-proprietary parts whenever possible.

User friendly control panel with ab controller

Controls on the MPA-67 are logically arranged, clearly marked and easy to understand. Locally available buttons, switches and pots are used for easy serviceability. The 'brain' of the MPA-67 is the advanced Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLC. The controller is CSA approved, UL listed and the control box is NEMA-12 rated.

Film tail cut & wipe down

Simple, yet highly effective aptly describes the unique film tail treatment on the MPA-67. At the end of the wrapping cycle, Orion's innovative asymmetrical film clamp grips the film web while the impulse hot wire cuts the film. The load seeking pneumatically actuated brush smooth's and secures the film tail to the side of the load. The result is an attractive, secure film tail that stays in place using a minimal amount of film.
